Wirribilla - Walcha, NSW

A large and impressive aggregation in the New England district of New South Wales, Wirribilla is situated 28 kilometres south-east of Walcha and comprises 5,027 hectares of freehold land. Due to pasture quality and high rainfall, Wirribilla is in a prime location for the fattening of livestock concentrating on the production of prime lambs and beef cattle. Wirribilla has an estimated carrying capacity of 73,500 DSE.

The property is well fenced to accommodate an extensive rotational grazing design, and there is an excellent and extensive laneway system, along with four sets of sheep yards and four sets of cattle yards. The land is well cleared and pasture-improved, with good shade timber and shelter belts, as well as areas of dense green timber. Pastures are sown to a pasture mix that suits high DSE production.

There are four separate sets of buildings on the property, including Wirribilla House - a beautiful home built in the 1980s and featuring extensive gardens and lawns, outstanding views and a pool. The Cottage is another four bedroom home offering great views and there are additional two and three-bedroom cottages, a jackeroos' cottage, weatherboard fishing huts, eight large machinery sheds, two wool sheds, a hay shed, eight silos and an aircraft hanger and two all-weather airstrips.

Average annual rainfall is 900mm. Water is supplied to many of the property's paddocks by a river and series of creeks, with the main water supply coming from the spring-fed dams in each paddock.

Wirribilla has been managed by Michael Campbell since 2005.
