Beemery Farm - Bourke, NSW

As one of Clyde Agriculture's more recently developed irrigation properties, Beemery Farm has excellent infrastructure resulting a history of excellent cotton yields.

Located on the Kamilaroi Highway some 40 kilometres west of Brewarrina and 60 kilometres east of Bourke, NSW, Beemery Farm produces cotton and has successfully grown a variety of crops including wheat, sorghum, corn and chickpeas under flood irrigation. The property covers an area of around 11,115 hectares, with 1,935 hectares developed for flood irrigation. This area includes a 3,159 ha conservation set aside.

The 8,936 Ml water licences enable extraction from the Barwon River when appropriate river flows are available. The two cell water storages have a total capacity of approximately 11,000 Ml and are designed to minimise evaporation losses With a good season and adequate rainfall, the water-supply delivery system (pumped from a site on the Barwon River) ensures a consistent rotation of land use and high crop yields.

John Bates has managed Beemery Farm since 2008.
